Founded in 1992 by Tony Douglas-Jones, Wood City originally operated out of a successful hardware business, Douglas-Jones & Company, which is still trading in Port Elizabeth, four generations after its inception. In the time that Wood City has been in operation it has grown from strength to strength, built on a foundation of responsible trading, successful business partnerships and a rock solid credit control system. Wood City is proud of the fact that one of the major reasons for its success is what we like to call the personal touch. Our relationships with our customers, staff and suppliers are of vital importance. Wood City is unique, in that, it is a one-stop store for the shop fitting, kitchen and furniture manufacturing industry. Wood City is South Africa’s largest, privately owned, board distributor. At present there are five branches and seventeen franchise operations nationwide. These outlets are all successfully run by a team of owners, managing directors and area directors. This broad distribution network ensures considerable purchasing power, which equates to the best possible prices across our range of products.
